Why I Volunteered at an Orphanage—and How It Changed Me.

(Written as a first-person volunteer testimony)

"I thought I was going to ‘help the poor.’ Instead, they changed me. For four weeks, I held babies who had no one else to rock them. I tutored kids whose eyes lit up when they finally understood math. I saw resilience in children who’d endured more pain than most adults. One boy, David, clung to my hand every morning. ‘You’ll come back tomorrow, right?’ he’d ask. That wrecked me. These kids don’t need pity—they need love that stays. Now, I sponsor two children and tell everyone: Go. Serve. Love. It will ruin you in the best way. "Could you volunteer?
