The dust swirled as our truck rolled into Nakivale Refugee Settlement, but nothing could dim the excitement in our hearts. Armed with donations from kind supporters like you, the Ethiene Orphans Foundation team was ready to bring smiles, supplies, and a spark of hope to children who’ve known too much hardship. What followed was a day we’ll never forget—here’s how it went...

The Mission: Why Nakivale?

Nakivale, one of Uganda’s oldest refugee settlements, is home to thousands fleeing conflict and poverty. Many children here have lost parents and rely entirely on the kindness of strangers. Our goal was simple:

• Deliver food packs, school supplies, and clothing to 200+ orphans.
• Spend a day listening, playing, and reminding them they’re not forgotten.

Behind the Scenes: The Work You Don’t See

This trip wasn’t just about handing out donations—it was about connection.

• Language barriers? We used hugs and handshakes.
• Scorching heat? The kids’ energy kept us going.
• Overwhelming need? We focused on one smile at a time.

For a few hours, the weight of their sorrows had already faded and all the difficultiesforgotten. I believe we can touch more souls world wide. 

We made sure that every soul at least smiled!

How You Made This Possible

Every dollar donated translated to:

• $10 = A child’s school kit (notebooks, pens, uniform)
• $25 = A week’s worth of meals for a family
• $100 = Medical supplies for the settlement clinic

However small it was, we made sure it reached everyone!

What’s Next?

We left Nakivale with full hearts but unfinished work. With your help, we can:

• Sponsor education for 50 orphans this year.
• Return monthly with food and medical aid.
• Build water sources such as boreholes and wells.
• Build a playground—because every child deserves joy.
• Build schools for child education.
